MakoPulse Alerts: text messages
Last updated: September 24, 2026
MakoPulse Alerts is the text-message program Mako Logics LLC runs for MakoPulse, our website uptime monitor. It sends exactly two kinds of message: a text when a website someone is monitoring goes down, and a text when it comes back. It never sends marketing.
Who receives texts
MakoPulse is an invite-only private beta. The only people with accounts are Mako Logics staff and beta users we have invited. There is no public sign-up. A text only ever goes to a phone number that its owner entered in their own MakoPulse workspace and agreed to receive alerts at.
How people opt in
Inside the app, on the On-call page, a user adds a responder with a mobile number. The number cannot be saved unless the consent box beside it is ticked. They then switch on SMS alerts for the individual monitors they choose. This is the form exactly as it appears in the app (shown here disabled):
Add a responder
The consent box is never ticked for anyone, and agreeing is not a condition of using MakoPulse or buying anything. E-mail alerts work without a phone number.
What the texts say
- MakoPulse: example.com is DOWN. HTTP 500. https://example.com Reply STOP to opt out.
- MakoPulse: example.com recovered and is back up. Reply STOP to opt out.
How often
Message frequency varies. Each monitor sends one text when it goes down and one when it recovers, so a quiet month brings none. Message and data rates may apply.
Stopping texts and getting help
Reply STOP to any alert text to stop all texts at once. Reply HELP for help, or e-mail support@makopulse.com. You can also turn SMS off for a monitor, or remove the number, in the app at any time. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your number and your privacy
Mobile numbers are used only to send the alerts described here. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, and text opt-in data and consent are never shared with anyone. Full details are in our Privacy Policy and section 5 of our Terms of Service.
